Hyun-Seok Sim

Hyun-seok Sim (born 1972) is a South Korean silversmith and jeweller celebrated for his precise, inventive work in silver that blurs craft, art and everyday object. 

Sim is internationally known for exquisitely crafted brooches, functional objects and his hand-made sterling silver cameras, which have been shown in solo and group exhibitions around the world since the late 1990s. He has taught extensively in South Korea and Canada and continues to exhibit widely, exploring form, geometry and the poetic potential of metal.

Hyun-seok Sim studied crafts at Kon-Kuk University in Seoul and completed an MFA at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Canada in 2000.
